What is the maximum Amperage of breakers can you have in a panelboard?
Example Circuits 1,3,5 have a 3 pole 100 amp
Circuits 2,4,6 have the same 3 pole 100 amp breaker. I believe the max is 140 amps total

The face value of the breakers has nothing to do with it. For example count up the total of all the breakers in normal houses 200 amp load center. You need to know the connected load

They are not all the same. You have to look at the instructions for your panel. They should list the total permitted current on a bus finger...I doubt it would be 200 amps, but maybe.

I agree that having two 100a breakers head-to-head is the bigger concern.

I prefer to stack high-current breakers in one column of the panel.
