I have a 3/4 hp 120volt motor. The full load is 13.6 amps. What size breaker would I need? This is for a sump pump. Periodic use of 15 minutes or less. I will use copper conductors and THHN wiring. I do not what type of motor is going to be provided. I don't think it is a Type B motor. I think that a 30 amp breaker is too small. (# 10 conductors)

I will need a disconnecting means at the sump pump location. Would it be better to have a fusable disconnect instead of using the breaker for short circuit protection?

You may select yor motor branch circuit and ground fault protection from article 430.52. The location of the disconnect should satisify 430.102,and your OL protection from 430.33 if not considered as continuiois duty. the typoe of disconnect can be selected from 430.109
