Okay so I did some work at this house the other day and they mentioned that a circuit breaker was tripping. The room was newly wired about a year or two ago. When the electrician wired the room he wired it with a 14/3 and split it. Red lights black plugs shared neutral of course. I checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Everything is tight and seems to be in order. I changed the breakers since they tripped so much I didn't know how much it weakened the breaker. Well they called me again today it tripped again. They have not added anything new to the room or anything. Any ideas why it would be tripping? I hate to go back without answers:-?

This may sound strange, but..

This may sound strange, but..

Do they have a cable TV box anywhere on that circuit? There was a bad batch of cable boxes recently (can't recall the brand) that had defective power supplies inside.

Another suspect would be any computers..I have had cases where a surge damaged the filter caps in a computer supply making them short momentarily at random times.

The megger suggestion is a good one.

BTW is this circuit on an AFCI?
