We have a new pool, installed in 2019, supposedly built to code (there was a permit signed off). Reinforced concrete all around. Unknown whether deck concrete rebar connects to pool rebar.
We are installing a pool fence by drilling into concrete to place fence posts. Installer drilled holes about 4" deep but hit rebar. In 2 of the holes he hit a copper wire. We think he broke through the wire in at least one of the holes. Suspect that this was the equipotential bonding wire.
Question is whether breaking the wire in 1 or 2 places put the safety of the pool at risk. Does the bonding need to be a continuous loop? Or if its connected in other points does that suffice because it is indirectly connected to the rest of the rebar structure?

Since you are not in the electrical industry we can't give you any advice on this other than you do need to contact a professional electrician experienced in pools. You may absolutely have a problem if the bond wire was compromised.
