What determines weather one uses a bronze or zinc clamp when bonding your GEC to the water pipes?
Probably the cost.
I would think there would be a reaction with the disimlar metals if you used zinc on a copper pipe.
The clamp should be listed for the type of pipe you attach it to. If a zinc clamp is rated for copper pipe than it's OK. IMO the zinc clamp will eventually rust away.
I seem to use brass/bronze clamps on copper rods and zinc on galvenized ones. Compatibility, y'know.I've never seen an electrician use the zinc ones before.
