Is there a code refrence for using stainless steel covers for duplex outlets?
I have seen them as part of spec sheets but never found a code refrence.

Those covers would be a design issue not a code issue. I do remember a job where the guys cleaning the floor at night would break the plastic covers at least once a week. They couldn't destroy the metal ones.
