Has anyone run into the problem of an end of a cord Leviton GFI plug that comes with a portable hot tub that will not fit inside a bubble cover.I spoke with an individual that sold the hot tub says the plug has to stay can't change it out its design is for a wall outlet.Informed him that since the tub is located outdoors on a deck and will remain there it needs a bubble cover. His reply, can't change the end even so the entire circuit is protected another way is to cut the bottom of the bubble coverout or use a short 12 gage extension cord and plug there Leviton plug into it. Thanks for any ideas. I forgot the demensions of this device four and three quarters long by two and three quarters wide and one and a half deep.

Re: Bubble cover

I have found the same problem with recent installation of pool pump. I am looking for a "deeper" bubble cover.

Re: Bubble cover

as an electrician, we know what has to be done in order to make it safe and some salesman saying that it can't be done doesn't cut it. it has to be done. most of them carry this little sign that says " installation must comply with ALL local, state, and national building codes." if it doesn't pass code it isn't the salesmans fault, its the one who installed it. the salesman only want the sale they could care less after they get their money. speak with the manufacturer to see if there is a equivelant plug that you can use to make it code compliant.
