Buck & Boost Transformer on a welder

Anyone aware of any problem using a buck n boost transformer on a welder.
Customer has a welder (unknown type) & manufacturer insists it must have a 240v input. His system is 208. Exact welder current is unknown but supplier asks for a 50 amp ciruit. B&B selected has a 62.5 amp rated secondary current.
 
Many welders have internal jumpers to allow for adjustments to match incoming voltage, check this first.
 
I've installed a few over the years, mostly on tanning beds, bu was curious about them on welders due to the nature of the load.

WHY?? Only reason I could se is if it is a welder with high frequency stabilization If that the case, you could add a smaller internal boost transformer for that circuit. zOr even just add in a 28V secondary in series with the internal cirduit.

Of course, no longer listed, etc. etc.....
