What are the proper connections for a buck boost transformer going from single phase 208 to 240? The xfmr has x1-4 and h1-4. Thanks

What are the voltages?
120/240 x 12/24 or 120/240 x 16/32.

Actually it doesn't make a difference, but the fact is neither will give you exactly a 208:240 ratio.

A common connection is Lh->X4, X3-X2, X1-H4-Ll, H3-H2, H1-Common. All of the windings are in series.

The xfmr should come with that info(assuming it is new), there is usually a sticker on it.
No, they usually do not.

The nameplate on the transfromer will show its connection as a standard isolation transformer and not as one of the 4 different methods that are typical for single phase 'buck-boosting'.
