Building Perimeter Ground Grid

If I am designing a ground grid for a large building, is there a minimum required distance that the perimeter ground loop should extend out from the building? I know when I designed grids for power plants, I would extend the perimeter grid 3 feet outside the fence line, don't remember if that was a requirement or not. I can't find in any code or standard a requirement for the minimum distance off the building for the grid. Any help?

No NEC requirement as Tom stated. Power plants and sub-stations typically extend 7-to-10 feet beyond the fence line so livestock and people would be protected.
