Is there a code for NMC bunled through boared holes in wooden structures ? Example: I'm on a residential job that has BCI joist you are only allowed to drill holes according to specs of BCI, If I were to drill a 2 inch hole for my branch circuit runs in the BCI structure how many 12-2 NMC can I put in a 2 inch hole ?

Generally what cpintree states, however, if caulking, fire stopping, thermal insulation, etc is involved see 334.80 ('08 Code)

I believe as long as you have separation before the hole and after the hole you can stuff it full.

I agree. If there is no fire caulk, etc. in the hole then you can fill it. The problem is what happens to the cables in the area between the holes. Some would consider them bundled since you cannot keep them separated, hence Bob's response.
