I see and hear a lot of talk about bundling. Yet the term is only used in one Article.
There is a phrase common throughout the NEC that is relevant to what some are saying, is bundling.

I did perform a digital search of the NEC, but it was not too accurate.
Let me know what you think.

Hello Rob,
It has been a while since I have been here.

I understand how much it is used, just surprised as it is not recognized by the NEC. Except for 1 Article, which is very specific.

The code language that most read as "bundled" actually says "installed without maintaining spacing".

I see the code language for ampacity adjustment as being much more restrictive than "bundling". With bundling you would talk active steps to pull the cables and conductors together, while maintaining spacing requires active steps to keep the conductors or cables from being next to each other.

There have been a few proposals to clear this up and one that specified a required spacing of one conductor or cable diameter came close to getting into the code.
