I should know the answer, But i dont.
After wiring a 3500 Sq/ft Ranch House It Failed an inspetion for "Romex Cables are extesively Bundled. Drill more holes to minimize number of conductors being bundled"
I have 2 sets of Holes, 2" in diameter, front and back of the house (2x12 floor joists) id say you could easily slide a piece of 3/4 EMT through them.
Where in the code other than 334.80 does it even mention "bundled together" In Speaking about Romex. Personally i dont feel 334.80 would apply to Home Runs because it is dealing with derating for fire or draft stopped sealing foam which these are not.
So basically how many are too many? Should i make a neat job hacklike with unsightly holes everywhere,, maybe i could run it all as the crow flies? Holes on angles?? I do panels without bundles and i wont even touch on sleeves or nipples. Ive always gone by the "neat makes heat" principle so shaping in a panel is a must, But this is Romex,, in a home, Is there anything written that i can refer to in the code that even defines a bundle?
