I understand that "bundling" or "grouping" has come up, yet this question is about Lighting Loads from a Home Automation System.

Lutron System
Each module has max of 4 outputs
20 amp archfault feeding these modules

Each output is very low, since its is maxed by its sheer nature of only 4 outputs.
Each run is 12-2 romex

Now, Having these multiple runs of very low amperage (that cant be "maxed", since the module limits it, is this a realistic issue on this code?

The loads are primary LED. Amperage is low, nowhere near the 12-2 max amperage.

Thoughts?

Inspector is on this "new" classroom discovery of "bundling"

Exactly what module... series/model?

Generally speaking, Code makes no concession for the branching of power and lighting circuits.

If you bundled 4-12/2 cables together and applied adjustment factors you would still end up with 20 amp conductors.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

I second that welcome.

If one wanted to fudge the derating, he could go up to 20 at 50% with 90°C rated conductors as long as the ambient temperature is stated to not be higher than 77°F. That would allow a factor greater than 1 to be applied and resulting in a conductor ampacity greater than 15A. And where the load is less than that 15A, 240.4(B) can apply so a 20A breaker would still be compliant.

I know most do not look at it this way so I thought I'd throw it out there for review. :D
