Been reading a lot about using a burndy crimper for splicing service conductors. The h taps are much cheaper and provide a very strong connection. I purchased the tool and a cover for the jaws. I also ordered the following h tap sizes listed below. Per the manufacture Looks like I just use the tool as is for crimping anything for just service conductors. Wondering if I am missing something.

#6-#1 to #6-#1
1/0-4/0 to #6-1/0
1/0-4/0 to 1/0-4/0

I ended up getting the md6 sent to me by mistake but told the seller if they just send me an O die it will be fine. Still gives me a wide range or taps to use without using a die. I will rarely use a tap that need an O or BG groove. Almost all services are upgrades and will only require me to use the D groove. It will also allow me to make nice permanent splices inside panels pull boxes meter cans. Will probably get some dies for crimp lugs.
