I am running into a situation at this industrial plant, where there is a lot of equipment on the floor and they are using bus drop cable or (cord) to supply power to the equipment, because of the flexibility and movement of the equipment. The drops are comming from abourt 20' up with strain relive on the cable and another on at the top of the 4x4 metal box for 120V recepatcle. The boxes are attached to the equiment. Article 400 talks about flex cables, but I am looking to find out if what I am describing is permissice under NEC. My question is a bus drop cable or cord allowed to supply 120V receptacles on the 4x4 box attached to the equipment with strain relive on both ends of the cable. I will welcome any suggestion please, or if there is any other way. I have not come to any article that does not allow this, but I may be wrong.
Thanks guys!
