I am wondering if anyone is aware of any situation where bus duct failed because of wild life.
This busduct is in a tunnel that birds can fly into and out. I was told that it was a 1200A bus duct. The main breaker was marked as being larger. We have as many as 11 disconnects that are active on this busduct. I walked off 375' of this busduct. There is more that disappears and heads upstairs. The size disconnects vary from 200A to 600A (possibly more). My boss expressed concern about this duct having a fault. That would put us in a very difficult situation if we had a power failure as a result of a fault. It seems to be a great place for the birds to make their nests. We are trying to gather information to help us and those who would pay for it decide if we should change this out or not. Any testimonials would be helpful. Thank you.
