I've read several posts on estimating software and it seems everyone has their own preference. Does anyone know if there is a biliing/takeoff combo software so you can track the job from bid to final, complete with billing?

Conest Software

Conest Software

Conest has a (T&M) time and material program that works with Intellibid software that actually does just what you what to do.

Thanks guys. I'm getting a little overloaded looking at the many estimating softwares. I want to try and find one that tracks as much as possible and don't want to make a $1000.00 mistake on the purchase.

quickbooks 2007 premier contractor edition. I just got it so have not used it as such yet, but it is advertised to do just that
I haven't been all that pleased with the earlier 2005 vs of QB contractors edition to track projects...hopefully this has changed and I would be interested in knowing if 2007 fulfills it's promise.

It just does not flow very well. Changes in amounts used generates an warning on each and every item. I have yet to get a report that shows labor actually has a cost. Reports that you want may not be capable of being generated with QB. It is to strict and may just be designed that way so you are forded to buy additional software from guess who.

I use QB for everything but Job Costing and Estimating.

On the plus side automatic updates are flawless with hi speed internet connections.
