They should work the same for BX as MC - right? I'll give them a shot. I can see them saving time!

Ive never used those but I do use the 38AST's they are talking about in the description. They save lots of time but as others have said are very aggrevating to remove if you have to yank the cable back out of the box. It looks like they have that problem solved with the new version though. Im gonna have to get my hands on some of those. Go for it!

on the 38AST's, there is a small tab you insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver into and it'll pop right off. Look for the spot where the ring comes together and you'll see the tab.

I bought a box as sort of a novelty for a little MC job a while back, and now I'm hooked on them. They are a little more in cost, but worth it, in my opinion.

I have been behind the ones that dont have a release....   As a rule, i dont like "push in" materials. anything that can be "pushed together" is IMHO not the most quality material. Kinda like backstabing resid. devices. We dont compete heavy in commercial and residential, so i am not worried about the labor cost of tighting two screws as much....We do mostly T&M work, so time savings isnt exactly the biggest worry......

I just this week used some snap connectors for emt. I always run a seperate egc so a good ground connection shouldn't be an issue. ( They seem to snap in pretty tight anyways). They cost a little more but they sure were quick and easy. Lock nuts a such a pita.

Since I found those type Ill never go back to the locknut
I agree. They are a great time saver. I've still got to keep a few of the locknut style around, though. When fished into an existing box they can be a bear to pull through with a pair of needlenose. The locknut style allows you to just spin the locknut on...:)

nothing wrong with that, but why do you hate them?

As mentioned before getting them out is a PITA. Banging them in to the KO shifts the box around. The locking teeth on the inner part of the connector cuts up the wire.

I just find that using a locknut connector is much faster and easier. Put the connector into the box first, makes getting the locknut on very easy, then put your stripped cable through.

Oh yeah...I have popped them out before...its pretty aggrevating though when you have a couple rows of cable snabbed in and the one u want to take out is in the very back:)
