Hi
i have to upgrade the old service of an commercial, 4-store / tenant property
to a new 400A 4-meter 120/240v 1ph overhead drop service which consists a wireway and metering gangs attached to it.

my question as follow;
Quet-1. Can I use 4-meter "by-gang able" service by Siemens that comes with 800A bus , I think and the service drop sized for 400A (based on my load calc) ,(3) 500 mcm conductors ????

quest-2. If so, do I have to install a pull box with landing lug for the overhead drop or
I can just enter into the wire way ???

Thank you

Last time I used one was ,
Pull box on the side to
wireway on the top
to meters under the wire way.

You need to talk to the serving utility to find out exactly what their requirements are. Every utility has different rules. In most case a pull box and lug landing are only required for underground installation where the utility is responsible for installing the conductors. Overhead feeds usually enter directly into the top of the bussed gutter but I have never used Siemens bussed gutters before.

If the calculated load is 400 amp 500's are too small. How big is this building? 400 amps for a 4 story building?

thank you for the cut-sheet
but I still need to know is pull-box or landing lug kit is required or not for overhead utility drop
depends on the product you purchase. The manufacturer or supplier should be able to provide details.

OOPS............
it has always been a requirement by me to install a house meter as well for the common areas {outdoor lighting},{hallway lighting} e.t.c. and after the install was energized by the utility company they would set an appointment with me to go to site and turn off each disconnect one at a time and check each and every receptacle, lighting and all other loads to make sure each tenant was paying for his/hers own electric.More times than not what was discovered was people{not necessarily electricians} would come along and add circuits to any box that had room,sometimes walls get taken down, put up,and the interior wiring just gets tapped on to whatever they can find,and we would have to separate everything,at the owners expense! theres a lot to consider when putting together a proposal,ask a lot of questions, make sure you know exactly what is expected, ultimately you are the one responsible for it all,,best of luck to you, and the family, be safe out there...
