Hi all,

Occasionally I need to make an irreversible splice, maybe once or twice a year. It's either two #4 copper wires or two #6 copper wires.

Can anyone recommend a cheap tool that will work with readily available C-crimps?

thanks

Ask your wholesale house, they rent them. They are usually provided for free.
That aside, most of the makers of the splice itself sell their own tool..

I'm not sure there is a cheap option. You could get one of these (or similar, many manufacturers offer pretty much the same thing), and I think you will need to get an O die for most C crimps.

I have also seen indentor crimpers used with barrel crimps, but that may not be completely legit

I have a cheap hydraulic crimper set I bought a few years ago.

It looks like this one; it might even be this one.
