CA Proposition 65 warning

I wired an outdoor light fixture yesterday and on the wires was an adhesive label with the following message :

Caution : Proposition 65 Warning - This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after use.

Anyone else running into this and should there more than just a normal concern ?
 
It is marked on hundreds of products. It is a left coast thing that has no significance except to make a bunch of people out there feel good about calling attention to something that doesn't matter.

However, I usually avoid eating large amounts of things that have such labels.

The largest cash crop in California is pot, and they don't label that.
 
I always make sure I wash my hands after I handle any wiring. Wouldn't want any of that stuff getting on my cigarettes, you know.
 
We have such lame warnings. In the UK, they're a bit more to the point:
