Dear Sir,

I have three 3 phase a/c units rated @ 40amps each, I have to supply power to these three units and the cable from the main panel to the sub-feeder panel is 85m long. How do I calculate the load for that distance to determine what size cable should be used to supply these units. I anxiously await your response. Thank you in advance.

When you say "rated at 40 amps each", do you mean that the unit has a tag on it that says "minimum circuit ampacity = 40 amps?

Do you plan on running a feeder to a seperate panel to supply these units?

Yes there is a tag with the ampacity of 40amps on it and yes I plan to put in a separate panel.
