Is there a code reference and/or table on how to calculate conduit fill involving cables (SO, NM, etc.)? We were discussing the topic in a class this evening and I could not find the location. The issue came up when dealing with box fill and conductors that pass thru a box with out a break. I am getting more and more used to being wrong on things I thought I knew :), but am I wrong on this one, too?

For conduit fill with two conductor NM you also need to look at Note 9.
(9) A multiconductor cable or flexible cord of two or more conductors shall be treated as a single conductor for calculating percentage conduit fill area. For cables that have elliptical cross sections, the cross-sectional area calculation shall be based on using the major diameter of the ellipse as a circle diameter.
