Cable & Hose carriers vs. Art. 300.8

Good morning...a colleague of mine asked me a question about cable track assemblies on machines that can carry electrical conductors and hoses. Art. 300.8 prohibits running any services other than electrical in the same raceway as the electrical conductors. How is it allowed for multiple services to be routed within a cable track systems on a machine? thanks.

That section prohibits single conductor wiring methods that the NEC requires a raceway be used for from containing other systems

On the other hand your cable track system is not a raceway and any NEC conductors inside it must be of a type that can be run without a raceway. Each will be a cable assembly.

Cable assemblies can be run through sleeves and spaces with other systems.
