Cable routing supports

What rules govern the use of these sorts of means for routing cable?

I want to use in order to secure flexible cord as well as other types of cable.

Mounting on sheet-metal for a HVAC unit. The HVAC unit will be located outdoors. Of course the cable will be outdoor-rated and sunlight-resistant.

The cable will be either control cable (24VAC) or power cable (up to three-phase, 460VAC).
