Cable selection and Ground connection.

We need 3/C 500 W/G to feed one of our UPS equipment. But currently, we have 4/C 500 cable with us.

Can we use the 4th core as a ground connection and use the 4/C 500 cable instead?

if you need a ground wire it would have to be part of the cable assembly that contains the circuit conductors.
