We have a customer that wants us to give him a price to install a 4"conduit and cable for cable T.V.,The route he wants us to install this is thru the new proposed life safety electric room.I informed him this was not a good idea, and thought this would be non-compliant.Looking thru the code I/am having trouble seeing a article(s) that applies????

What do you mean by life safety room?

I know there are restrictions on what can go in a generator room. That's probably in NFPA 110.

Otherwise, I don't know of any restrictions offhand.

I really don't think a cable TV conduit would cause any problems, unless it funneled water into the room, or unless it fell ontop of something.

Edit: I guess in theory, it might be able to conduct lightning into the room.

The room will have the electrical emergency system equipment installed in it,I typically call this life safety.
For some reason I thought the only other equip. allowed in this room, would need to serve a purpose to be allowed in it-...

Does that include the generator, or just the transfer switch and life safety panels?
