cable temp. rating used on dry type transformer

I had a question today and not sure how to find an answer.
co-worker found contractor using 90c rated cabled on a transformer rated as 220c <> 150c rise. He has made the assumption that the cable is under rated for the transformer based on temperature rating. disregard conductor sizing. how can i prove this might not be true?

The is no correlation between conductor insulation rating and transformer insulation rating. A properly sized 75 deg conductor would be acceptable.

The transformer should have a label saying something like 'field wiring below this line' or some such. The transformer coils could reach rather high temperature, so 90C wire has to be kept away from the coils. Properly following the instructions makes lower temp wire perfectly acceptable for the connections.
