Assuming multiconductor cables in ladder type tray, all larger than 4/0. My understanding is the requirement in 392.80.(A)(1)(c) (spacing of not less than one cable diameter between cables) only applies if I want to use the free-air ampacities per 310.15(C).
If I do not space the cables at least one cable diameter apart, then I must use 310.15(B)(16) (with temperature adjustment as required).
Is this correct? So that installing single layer of multiconductor cables, with little or no spacing, still allows the use of 310.15(B)(16)?
