Cable Tray Class 2 Div 2

If I install wire basket cable tray in a Class 2 Div 2 environment can I only install a single layer of cables spaced a cable width apart even if the cables are for 24VDC instruments and signal devices?

If you are under the 2017 code and are using Type TC that is correct.

You could install the same circuit is the same tray and location using PLTC or ITC and not be required to install in a single layer.

The 2020 does not have that restriction for Class II, Division 2 installations.

PLTC has to be separate tray. Can’t mix except in limited circumstances.
