I have 21, 3 phase 4 wire inverter output circuits (84 conductors total) to run in cable tray. The conductors will be 250 XHHW (CT use). My reading of 392.10(A)(2) is that I can have about 104 250 MCM conductors (.691 OD) in a 36 inch wide cable tray.
Questions:
1. Do you concur with the above?
2. These conductors will clearly not fit in a single row, but I am not seeing any guidance as to how they are to be grouped/layered. 300.3(B) requires grouping, but apparently only within the same tray, not specifically grouped in groups within the tray.
3. Say I have one conductor smaller than 250 MCM. It appears that I then use 392.10(A)(4) which cuts my max fill nearly in half, to sum of diameters not exceeding width of tray, seems odd is this correct?
