Cable tray trapeze supports and process piping?

Construction utilized the same trapeze cable tray supports to install process piping. The first 2 tiers have cable tray and the bottom tier has piping. Aside from the obvious structural concerns is there anything in the NEC that prohibits this practice?

I now you can't hang stuff from electrical raceways, but I think it's okay to hang stuff from raceway supports.

Simply a design and specification issue....not a code issue.

It is not a code issue as long as structural is taken into account. We call it multi-trade rack and is often pre-fab'd off site in sections to be brought in for limited on site assembly

I agree. Unless there is a condition where independent support is required. For Vitalink MC cable we typically see a spec that calls for independent support even from conduit racks.
