Hi I need help understanding the cable tray fill Table 392.9 I have a cable tray with 4/0 multi conductor and smaller cables if I'm calculating my cable fill properly I would only be able to put a single layer of cables in a 18" tray. My other cables are 2/0 and 1/0 multi conductor cables. It seems one should be able to layer the smaller cables and stay within the cable fill capacities. Also what is the proper way to determine the square area of a given cable?

I actually found the perfect resource for my question. I went to www.b-line.com It gives several examples and code references. It also gives nominal dimensions of different types of cables and conductors
