Calculating Bus Duct Voltage Drop

I would like to extend a 1600A. plug-in bus duct into a new addition of an existing assembly plant. The current bus run is approximately 700 feet in length and I was thinking of extending it another 700-800 feet into the new addition. The load on the current section of bus is minimal (60A. welder outlets and (3) 10 HP Supply Fans) I know how to do the calculations for voltage drop on cable applications, but how do I determine just how far I can extend the existing bus run before I have to be concerned with voltage drop on the bus itself?

What is the system supply voltage?

If it's 480 or higher, I would not be concerned with VD in such an application.

208 or 240 -- MAYBE, but not with the loads you described ...

1600 amp bus duct with only 60 amps of load? You should be able to get the voltage drop information from the bus duct manufacturer, or would would need to know the area and material of the bus to do your own calculation.
