I am an engineer in a VFD manufacturing plant and we have started building our own power junction boxes; it is pretty much a box with a bunch of bus bars mounted on a glastic plate.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to calculate the short circuit bracing for a simple box like that; I am pretty much sure it depends on the insulating/mounting material (glastic plate) and busbars spacing but I don't know the exact formula to calculate the number representing short current rating in kA.
