If there is 120/208 present and most equipment requires plus or minus 10% voltage, I see 264 or 216. What’s your thoughts on these requirements from the specs?

this was the note in specs.

5Electrical: 240V 3600W 20A
Dedicated 240V 20A circuit required
Not found in common electrical setups - may need a transformer to accommodate.
10’ cord exits from back left of floor

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to know I fully understand before moving forward. Thanks in advance.

Your post is hard to understand. what do you mean you see 264 or 216?

If you have a 208 Y system then you will need a buck boost to get the voltage up to 240.

What is this?
if it’s some type of heater it may not matter
208 still isn’t 216
The utility would have to keep you at 125V to maintain 216.5V on a 208 system.
I also don’t understand why it says not common. 240 is very common

Brandonelec:

You should be able to answer your own question better than we can.

What is a sauna? Mostly a heater and a light bulb. There might be a motor, but unlikely. Possibly a windup timer.

You need to determine if there is anything in the sauna that would be damaged by low voltage. If so, then you need to solve that problem. Low voltage to heater or incandescent won't hurt either of them. Just longer time to heat, and a dimmer light.

.

Since it will produce 25% less BTUs of heat at 208, there may not be enough heat output for the sauna to work as it is designed. There is no way of really knowing without trying it or getting something in writing from the manufacturer.
Then again, it may work just fine, but only taking longer to get up to heat.

+/- 10% is the acceptable operating voltage range of the equipment.
I question each piece of equipment that is rated 240V but needs to be connected to a 208V system. Agree, I would provide a buck/boost xfmr.
If the equipment hasn't been purchased yet, you might want to reach out to the manufacturer as some can offer connections to different voltage systems. (my experience with imaging and lab equip.)
