If I have 4965watt load heater for defrost terminals it runs 50 minutes how do i do the math correctly for finding costs, is it wattsx60secx60minxcosts.

thanks for any help.

(Watts/1000) x hrs x cost per kWh. That's how the power company bills it, kWh.

So a 100W lamp run for 24 hours at $.08614 is
(100/1000) x 24 x .08614 = 21?.

Edit to add: At my price, I think your 50 minute session costs about 35?.

You have a 5 KW load and it is on for 5/6 of an hour. Thus, the energy consumed is 25/6 = 4.17 KWH, At our cost this is about 4.17*0.12 = $0.50 .

Be thankful for your energy prices. In UK it would be nearly $1.00
