Can all 3 apply ? 700, 701 and 702

The client has designated our site diesel generators as “optional standby” per NEC 702…but he’s also stating the installation must comply with NEC 700 (emergency system) and 701 (legally required standby systems). Does this make any sense?

You can use the same generator system for all three branches listed assuming it is sized for the loads, but you still have to meet the specific requirements of each article for that specific branch. You would also need separate transfer switches for the respective branches.

You’re saying the transfer switching is different in each case?
