15 hp 3-cyl recip air compressor by I.R. Line voltage wires are 10 gauge. Amps for various voltages shown on Motor plate. See wire colors. Is this evidence conclusive enough for you to tell me what voltage to hook up?

One can only assume it's 480.

Take the cover off the peckerhead and see how the leads are connected. That will be the tell.

You can run 208 or 480 to the motor, you just need to make sure you wire the motor leads per the wiring diagram in the lower right corner of the nameplate for low or high voltage. I'm guessing it was previously wired 480v based on the wire colors Brown Orange Yellow and #10 isn't big enough for a 15HP motor at 208v and 40 amps FLC.

Thanks, just started unpacking it and hadn't recognized the diagrams, looked like decoration or something. I don't know much about this but I'll probably leave it wired at 480 v if proves to be that way now.
