Trying to figure out correct ways to effectively use these fittings to route conduit efficently. Can I use GUA boxes in Class 1 Div 1 for Pulling or Splicing without Sealoffs within 18 inches?

Yes if no boundary seals are required and no arcing, sparking devices are inside.

And I believe wire nuts are not considered either.

Sorry I don’t have code references.

Someone shortly will chime in with them.

So after a boundary seal no T or C fittings are allowed so it has to just be straight pipe less then 360 degrees? Reason I ask is every pipe comes from a MCC Room outside the Class 1 area so I have the 10ft boundary seal off on every pipe. So from what I understand no pull points or branching off after that.

That being said if you only need a boundary seal and then no seal offs after that like for lighting Im assuming you can have gua boxes as long as there isnt a need for a 2nd seal off?

The seal needs to be the first fitting (other than a reducer) on either side of the boundary. Once in the div 1 area, you don't need seals on connections to a GUA box unless it is one of the conditions in 501.15(A)1 (note if it includes splices and has hubs 2" or larger, then seals are required).

Also note the GUAs can be provided with sealing covers, and could act as your boundary seal, if needed.

So GUAs can be in between seal off fittings no just unions and elbows etc...?

I think I see what your saying now it cant be before the boundary seal. It can be after as long as it meets no arcing sparking devices and the trade size rule
