Can I use time served under an electrician?

I have about five years experience that is well rounded in commercial & res. remodeling and troubleshooting and repairs. I would likke to become licensed myself in order to add it to my already existing A/C and major appliance company- MD American Heating and Air. Can i use this time served towards the required hours if I can locate my old boss? This was pre-Katrina, so I do not know how easy it will be to find him or account for the time.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks Michael

Don't know if it will be allowed, but in some cases, a signed, notarized statement from your old boss may serve the purpose. In your case, maybe records were destroyed in Katrina, so maybe a statement will be permitted.

When I quit my first boss, my state let me use my pay stubs as record of hours worked... which was good, because he never registered me with the state for my first year.....

I have heard that CT will nolonger allowed pay stubs to show work history. You now need proof of actual work from your old boss or your hour book.

Thats pretty strange since my paystub was from an electrical contractor... but I really hope some poor kid like does not get it stuck to him with this change. And I'm glad i'm past that hump in my life...
