I'd start with some basic geometry tricks ... radius along the arc will divide it into 6 spaces ...jhaley24 said:Does anyone have any ideas on hanging 18 can lights 6 feet apart in a perfect circle? Its for a restaurant. :-?
Using AutoCAD, I determined that the radius is 2.8794 times a side, so your radius is 17.2764 ft. Take a piece of wire and put ring terminals on the end at that length. Determine the center of the layout. Swing a circle (floor as suggested, then plumb with laser, or on ceiling if easier). Select one can location. Pin that same line from (can#1); swing it to circle intersections, mark and pin at those (now have 5 marked), pin at either of those (or both to confirm, mark #6. Now take your 6' tape and mark last 12 on the circle.
