Can Polaris Grey Connectors be used for solid wire?

Hello,

I plan to use a 4 port Polaris grey connector for a connection. These are designed for finely stranded wire. One of my wires is 6 gauge finely stranded and the other 3 are solid wire 12 gauge. I see the following classes listed which all appear to be stranded.

http://www.nsiindustries.com/catalo...lated-connectors-for-fine-stranded-wire/iplg1-4
1-10 AWG ( B,C,D) 2-10 AWG ( K,M,I) Polaris™ Grey For Fine Stranded Cooper Conductor - 4 Port

However, I found the following here:
http://www.polarisconnectors.com/fine_stranded_grey.html
UL Listed Polaris Grey can be used with virtually any kind of copper conductor, but is specifically designed for use with fine-stranded, flexible and extra-flexible copper conductors.

Can anyone confirm if solid wire can be used in this device?

Thank you,
Ryanman

I'm a big fan of NSI Polaris products. However
the greys are a bit diffucult. They come with a copper wrap like a cam lock. You have one shot to get it right or it's trash.
Sorry that doesn't answer your question. Just a heads up.

Polaris grey is specifically designed for fine stranded copper. My guess is if it properly sized it should work on solid also but I am not certain. Why would you use these -probably more expensive- no?

I would contact them as it is designed differently.
