Presently my company would like to take an remodel an old diary on campus. A service is running in a building 125' across a concrete pad from the old main processing building. At present between the buildings there is supporting wire rack raceway with an old cable in conduit attached to it. I was wanting to remove the old conduit, and use the supporting raceway to run 4/0 SE/SER cable from the existing service and cross over to a new 200 amp disconnect inside of the processing building. Can I do this? This SE/SER cable will be exposed directly to the weather and to the sun. Are there any rules that would not allow this, or would require some type of protection for this cable?
