Doing some renovation we need to move a pipe. The pipe was run thru a wall from apartment below us to room above but wall isn't there anymore.
Pipe is 2 inch but that pipe is old rigid black pipe(I think is steel and actual size is 1 7/8 ). we need to cut it from the bottom and top to reroute it.
Is anybody knows any change overs from that old black pipe to new fittings?
I will try to make some pictures.
 
I an not sure but that black iron should be the same as a galvanized pipe. A threadless connector or coupling may work or you will need to thread the ends.
 
Be forewarned: black iron pipe was used mostly for two things; gas and waste drains. Either one may affect your decision to be cutting anything without a VERY thorough investigation!
 
There's millions of feet of black pipe in NYC used as electrical conduit much of it embedded in pour concrete decks. A simple thread-less fitting for RMC should work as Dennis suggested.
