Is it possible to install Tesla backup switch with "Green Meter Adapter" for PG&E?

Can some share a SLD of PV with tesla powerwall3 with Green Meter Adapter?
 
We want to install Tesla Backup Switch with Powerwall3 for whole home backup but utility rejected it and asked us to install Green Meter Adapter with 200A MSP.
 
Isn't the GMA just a way to make a line side tap so larger PV systems can be installed on 125 amp and smaller underground services? If so the storage would not provide backup power.
 
I think you should try again or ask to speak to a supervisor. I don't install Tesla and can't help you with details, but I know for a fact PG&E has approved the Tesla backup switch. You might have just encountered a rookie project manager.
