can you change 120 to 240

i have a 240 volt, single phase, 3 wire, 10 amp, 60hz battery charging system for the small electric cars. the only power supply i have is 120. is there any way to change this to accomidate the 240 with out a transformer? if so how?

If you 120 volt circuit is an individual circuit with nothing else connected, then the transformation from 120 to 240 is simple. Is this the case?

hint: 120v=2 ccc and grounding conductor
240v= 2 ccc and grounding conductor
120v= single pole breaker
240v=double pole breaker
120 or 240= amps is amps
sharpies are great for phase marking

There is no reason to suspect this other than it may be a possibility. I suspect he has 240 available but I am reluctant to explain how to make the change because the op does not appear to be qualified to do it.
