How do you size a capictor too a motor when theres no infomation on motor

You don't. But I would start by asking why anyone thinks that a capacitor is needed anyway. If, for example, there are measurements that prove that a power factor problem exists, then that is in itself information about the motor. What, if anything, is known about this installation?

You start from scratch and resize the job with the given parameters. Things change even motors.

Is this a fractional-horsepower capacitor start/run motor? Contact a motor shop.

I dont really have info for particlular motor , just though there should be a way to find out what it takes given motor size and voltage, just a guestion thats was bugging me, thanks for all the replies
