Car Charger for Residential optional load calculations (new construction)

I would assume car chargers are to be considered an appliance for load calculation purposes on a new home design build. I cannot find any exceptions in the Mike Holt calculations books. Can anyone confirm this? Car chargers are used for hours at a time, seems different than an appliance but where else would it be entered on an optional load calculation for a total service?

car chargers are not appliances IMO. if it is not hardwired, look at 220.14.
